Know What Is The Cutoff For UPSC This Year?

The UPSC selection procedure has three phases, as is common knowledge. Those who qualify for the Preliminary cutoff will be considered for the Main Examination, which is the second phase of the recruitment process.

Applications are eligible to take the personality test if they qualify for the UPSC Mains cutoff. The UPSC Cut Off from the prior year will help candidates studying for the following IAS Exam gain a better sense of the amount of competition and establish their desired objectives accordingly. 

Since the CSAT or General Studies 2 are simply qualifying exams, the UPSC Prelims Cutoff is based on General Studies 1. For qualification, candidates must receive a CSAT score of at least 33 percent. The Civil Services Exam’s final results for a given year are announced by the Union Public Service Commission for both the Preliminary and Main Examinations.

Prelims cut-off for general categories is 92.51 percent and according to the official website, it is 98 percent. The Mains examination consists of nine papers in total, although only seven papers are merit-based. 

Candidates just need to receive a passing grade of 25% on Papers A and B in order to qualify. The marks earned out of a possible 1750 will be used to create the Mains Cutoff. Those who achieve the UPSC Mains Cutoff will be qualified to take the Personality Assessment.

The results of the Main examination and interview phase are taken into account for determining the final UPSC Cutoff. The total mark for the interview phase is 275, while the overall score for the UPSC Mains is 1750. As a result,  the last UPSC Cutoff would be calculated by using the 2025 overall score.
